LFS can simulate anything on wheels... well it doesn't mean it has to simulate everything on wheels.

that said Truck racing brings a new discipline and type of racing (2 axle road vehicle type racing) I think it is a valid and fun addition...

i think this is the right idea to new cars
a type of car- not a specific.
this is a good way to go about it.

i know about the LSD's and the open diffs
why is the locked diff so easy to use for the UFR and XFR?
i thought locked diffs would cause terrible under steer and ruin the day- but it seems to be the bst way in the front drivers and the weak RWD cars-why is that
and some one explain the viscous dif to me...

Quote from ajp71 :The V8 Supercars have a live rear axle AFAIK and would (going on guesswork here) be better matched against the current GTRs.

Oh well in that case-
but giving in to a type of series or a specific car (four door- vs. tube frame)
the V8 supercars would certainly be in line with the GTR as far as style goes, the NASCAR type cars are tube frame monsters, which around a proper circuit can do rather well, i mean for example:at Watkins Glen
Jeff Gordon, 1:10.798, 124.580 MPH, Cup series record

Scott Pruett, 1:12.861, 121.052 MPH Busch Series Record

Greg Biffle, 1:14.465, 118.445 MPH, 2000 in the craftsman trucks (wow aero drag! they run the same or similar motors to Busch cars!)

Daytona prototype Alex Gurney 1:07.496
GT (PTG BMW GTR!) Bill Auberlen 1:13.541
SO you see the Cup NASCAR typr car is certainly capable to fight the GT cars as we know the BMW GTR is no slouch.

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup ... with a lap time of one minute 25.581 (FZ5?)

[FONT=ARIAL,HELVETICA][SIZE=2]Pontiac GTO.R (a monaro) (i could not find a time help)

[FONT=ARIAL,HELVETICA][SIZE=2][FONT=ARIAL,HELVETICA][SIZE=2]A 1965 competition Austin Mini-Cooper (a flying shoebox!) did a 2:21. (UF1/UFR?)

I feel this show that perhaps any love axle specially made tube fram or live axle car can do the business with the best of them.
I think a compromise of these is the best, which perhaps a vintage style racer with a live axle (or a trans-am style racer) might do the best fit, non descript blocky type body, big torque few gears, and heavy. so any car of this type could be a welcome snarling addition to the LFS line up.

I think what would make it stand out, not just a V8 big car like the Supercars, but so long as it has a live axle, which would make the handling what we are after and the weight.

it could be an old " muscle car" those were raced in NASCAR of old, and even those were like the original Supercars... Torana any one? Galaxie 500?
Torino? Superbee? Charger?

i have been at N2K3 alot lately and a Stocker or a Big torque big power 4 or 5 speed car with a live axle could be gobs of fun, even at blackwood.
this would be a great addition to the game

do do
these skins are great fun
i like to have some closer tie to real racing no and again- not just physics but the immersion in a BTCC or a WTCC fight for the win. Some of the best touring car there ever was...(don't start with the V8 supers the DTM or...)

Is there a BTCC or WTCC skin pack for the FXO?
Only because i would like to simulate some proper Supertouring (90's era) BTCC at our club house, and having the proper skins and (mostly front drive BTCC of the era) fit more in line with the FXO than any other car.

or even a WTCC or new BTCC skin pack (i have the Honda factory tema XFG)- but that would involve the XFGti....
renualt laguna- Nestle sponsorship... the Ford Mondeo Rapid fit Duckhams... Volvo factory team Nissan Primera...Audi S4.... Astra.... like in TOCA 2, BTCC from PS2 if i am not ringing bells from my descriptions

ha ha ha a bus- not such a super truck...
riding lawnmower on BL RallyX ha ha!
the best thing some one said and now has in their sig, is other 'games' are about car tuning LFS is about racer tuning.
the more disciplines the better, not just more cars in one class.
BTW why is it the XRT and XRG and RAC are sooooo Slippy in the rear? is it the tyre model or the grip from the crap tires?
improvement suggestion- All cars should have a basic rollcage in them- they are racing afterall.

all the additional cars and real road racers are great- we can have alist longer tha GT4but expanding the racing experience would be the Charm here (maybe this is why LFS has generic cars, each is for a specific type/class/style of racing) Which is why a DBR9 a F430, Murcielago, gallardo, CLK-GTR, EVo, Evo, WRXSti, Spyker, Vertigo, wtc. are great but these fit and expand an existing class..new car classes (even if lap times are equivalant- driving style and lines surely are not) would make for new views on racing...I just rediscovered the LX4- lurid slides, easy control...The LX6 should simply be put on slicks, and Bin the road version. Great fun, formula fords? 1967 GP style cars, Can-am types, LMP styles, Supertrucks, Trans-am style cars... this is how I see LFS expanding and i can see it doing so very well. but first up SUPERTRUCKS

the point mad above about adding a car which would add a new dimension to it is why i champion Superracing Trucks... a rally raid car would be great bu does it fit LFS track model? and long races as such are 1000's of kilometers, can this be modeled or used practically in LFS? cars which would slot into given classses are terriffic but it doesn't expand into a different 4(six? F1 Tyrrel and Supertrucks) wheel discipline, just adds to the fun whic is a great idea...but i would like to see trucks, maybe riding lawnmowers even, but a liscenced car just to have- it not yet.

i have raced at road america and i tell you one thing it is really really big
and the forest is very very dense in spots
Deer get in often and i have hit a turkey or something with feathers once in a formula ford, pretty gross and i can imagine a deer in there..marshall would have to link arms every where to prevent it.
these animal show up like POW and you have so little time to do something

ahh there you have it the Nos mod people used to cheat online with demo cars!
cheat=NoS?
no i would say that NOS is not right for the circuit cars, but a tank of it in the S1 cars might be welcome... this would also iplement turbo PTP buttons for the new Champcar they will make...illepall
If there is a proper drag car(which people will end up using it for circuit racing) then a NOS button would be great, or it could be a handicap, and only available for the non-Circuit race cars (FXO, GTi, Uf1, Xrt, RAC, FZ5 LX's...) because it will work ina straight but no way will these cars handle it in a corner...
so everyone would be happy?

i don't think it would enhance the racing experience any however...

ah yes ofcourse..
but pitting every 5 laps? nah you can set it up to do 25 laps or more no pitting needed unless your low on water or fuel... (see MBTR by syntec...of course supertruck racing on PS2 has only 10 lap max :really

The water tank can be done, but es this would introduce brake fade... to all classes, or simply make a temperature reading a "brake system" for trucks, if it gets tooo hot the truck won't stop, or lock up in place. and the water tank button can be tied to a wheel button- or the traction control button!
so use it to keep the "brakes" out of the red, simple idea to brakes with manual cooling.
if no one hase tried MBTR or SupertrucksRacing you should they are rely fun. And drfiters would love these things...

The intorduction of many nay sayer into a racing class which you don't get or follow can be a bonus to the type of racing and all the uninitiated,
While i would really enjoy dakar styl or rally race-hillclimbs etc... I think LFS model excels on tarmac... and rainy weather might be nice.. But the small rally X tracks don't do much to make it interesting, and frankly i love tarmac races, Rallye and raids are great but it doesn't feel as if it fits into LFS 100%- after all it is everything from UF1 to BF1...Dirt? where is the Winged sprint car, and midgets? and the dirt oval?- the bullring, the highbanks?
with the given tracks- sunny, windy, cooler weather (but always dry)
i think adding Supertrucks is a good way for something totally new and supertruck fun.
of course there is that LMP....and the stockcar...and the ....trans-am...and the V8 supertaxi...

of course come to think of all the great ideas here- a BMW GTR or a VIPER would add to the big GT class. a new addition would be welcome of course, I feel as stated the XRR should be improved a bit, i drive it competitively against FZR and FXR but these car appear to be much easier to drive quickly.
a Viper would be nice, but then a C6R Vette too...
perhaps the RACeABOut will become a GT class car before anything else new is added. or the RB4 (RBR?)
And I realize a LMP type car would show up sooner than A Super truck I feel

The demo car classes seem to be languishing now, so no need to expand this... although a rear drive competitor to the UF1/XFG- think 100hp Volvo amazon 122 or AbarthFiat 550 might be better suited and a UFR/XFGti expansion would be fun (Rallye/race style Volvo 122 amazon).

All vote SuperTrucks! how many other games have these? MercedesBenz Truck Racing from 2002, or Supertruck racing for PS2 in 2004?- and the Toca racedriver series has horrible trucks racing there- these guys didn't get their data from FIA trucks, or even regs! (these trucks are 5 or 6 speed, not 7 and rev to 2200-3500rpm max depending on the truck.)

the sound is a 20 hz Rumble-no ROAR
1300-1500 HP (Max.torque 5200Nm) 0-100kph in 4.5-5 seconds. 12 litre capacity (12.5 max). less than 6 seconds to 160KPH. what are they 5500 kg- WOAH tonnes! 5.5 bar of boost. (260 kph anyone? no real people to hurt or circuit to destroy lets hope breaks keep up!) -a button for water to cool those brakes would be needed. and the HORN blasts! haha haha!!

What a great SIM program to use on Saubers promotion days? forever advertising on the worlds greatest SIM? Incredible tyre modelling for them to use in their simulations, ?
What could it be? SuperTrucks would be great, 2 classes unrestricted (up to 256KPH and the restricted class to 160KPH, and 2 designs each maybe the Long nose frieght liner type, and the flat face MAN tractor type (of course that would be a total of 4 new cars, better stick with the Buggyra (a compromise of them 2 types) i think- although the MErcedes/ and MAN and Ford types ( see attachments of Ford vs. mercedes) would be tooo excellent-. SRT (superrace truck-unrestriced) and (RRT restricted race truck) or is it better to have them restriced awith a turbo boost? the current FIA regs regulated them to 160kph, but they are trying to get a turbo boost allowance to get them to 180 or 200kph temporarily (push to pass any one?) so as to allow use of slip streaming and passing and catching up when things go awry...

The UF1 and UFR class get raced plenty- so this style could be great fun and have lots of attention. (Either SRT or RRT) but a push to pass should be mandatory...

and the XRR should have a V6 or V8 NA, the Turbo kills it with the ag compared to the FZR...
